Heading out to get a ham hough and a chicken. Best soup ever and chicken and ham pie as a bonus.
Nice combination. There's a nice German dish Erbsensuppe, which is thick pea soup with lots of chunks of smoked ham. It's a complete meal in itself and good preparation for watching a footie or rugby match in cold weather.
