Working two days after the contract end date, and being paid for it? What's the big deal? Their money not good enough for you?

I think that's the point; there's a risk of not getting paid for it according to past experience between agent and client...

Possibly not getting paid for it - thats the point. I know what'll happen if I do it as well, it'll get to froday and it'll be please work next week and we'll sort it out. then the week after.

I always thought the mantra was "no contract = no insurance = no attendance"?

The nerve they've got is amazing. Please work for an extra two days and at the end of the week we'll let you know whether you're back on monday or not.

Potentially, it will really piss them off when I fail to turn up on Thursday but there we go.

Have spoke to agency and they wont authorise those two days because they've been burnt by client before like this where contract has not been renewed and they've never got the 2 days paid for. That's that then. No go from agent means no go for me.

Must admit I have never worked for a client as bad as this with extensions. Most are, sorry, I know you've got 3/4 weeks to go but we cant renew - thanks etc. No problems with that - name of the game. But when its wait until last day, work for free, etc etc it goes too far....
TBH, I wont work past the contract end date without a new contract in place. But then again, I never start a 'contract' without a contract being signed and all that.

It seems this client's m.o. is to regularly ask contractors to work past the end date then **** everyone, agents and contractors, by not paying.

You're well out of it imo.
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!
