    ye gods NO!

universal voting is the only way, otherwise we would have the tired old tories and massive inequality.

      Interesting survey yesterday
80% wanted more taxes & cuts.
25% thought these should affect them personally.

from memory but those were the rough percentages.
I bet most thought the rich should pay - but they will just move abroad.

So we either need a tax on global income - or tax on property - or both.

precisely, eat the rich, unfortunately every time you go to that water hole it shrinks.

spend less, make sure the rich (and other evaders) pay a fair share.

Its not harsh at all, and there is no such thing as an asylum seeker in the UK. The rules of asylum say you must claim asylum at the first safe country you arrive at. Not keep going until you hit the softest with the the biggest benefits.

Let's be fair if you were filthy rich and you saw how much money the government wanted from you to give to the scroungers and layabouts, you wouldn't want to pay it either. As much as I didn't like being in Switzerland at first after being here and looking at things in the UK, I think they do things better here with the exception of healthcare.

Lets be fair, thats why most of us are contractors and outside IR35. I think its immoral that the more you earn the higher percentage you are expected to contribute.

I think if most people thought the money was well spent fewer people would avoid tax. Tax evasion would also become more of a socially unacceptable action.

I completely agree, people bang on about fairness and it's true life isn't fair but there's also a time when taking the p!ss will be the straw that breaks the camels back and I think we're long past that point.

WHS - When I was having baby, I was initially in a 4 bed ward, me and 3 african women with little or no English and even less in the way of manners. I'd be thoroughly astounded if any of those women ever paid a penny in income tax.

Thankfully I was transferred to a private room.
