Where has this figure of 40,000 fans travelling without tickets come from ? Did you read it in the Sun ?

According to the report produced today there is no evidence to suggest this was true. Rather the police used it at the time to shift the blame for their own failings on the day.

The following quote from South Yorkshire Police says it all really :

"On that day South Yorkshire Police failed the victims and families. The police lost control. In the immediate aftermath senior officers sought to change the record of events. Disgraceful lies were told which blamed the Liverpool fans for the disaster"

To some it doesn't matter what the report says as they have their own version of events that were reported in the sun

Each to their own, I like to despise them.

A lot of this was down to the fans. Yes, the police lied, but jesus, did you expect anything else? Too many fans travelled, lots without tickets (does that appease the 40k number?), too many were allowed to get in free.

As has been said, happened all the time, strange how despite this being a common police policy, like kettling now, it only happened to the scousers...

That 5 CL trophies? Or one? Much harder to win now no? Must be those 22 years without a proper trophy

HATING a sports team is massively weird and immature in my view. Hate is a hugely strong emotion to attribute to a collection of strangers.

I have always hated LFC since I started following footie back in the 70's. It gets into your emotions, into your blood.

But if you're an emotionless, turd burgling nerd, then I can understand.

Why would being gay have anything to do with it?

Investing such emotional energy in a sports team in which you have absolutely no part smacks of trying to fill a hole in your life.
