If you worked for 20 years with jewish people, and had a hard time, all the time, do you think you'd be well placed to make a comment about how you feel about working with them? If I said, I effin hate working with Indians, woudl that make me racist, or someone that hated working with indians? If I said, jesus, every DBA I have met is a jumped up prick, I hate working with DBAs, would that be ok?

I think you could be a racist even if you didn't dislike any particular group, because a racist worldview would be one in which you don't work from the axiom that all people are equal.

As for being outwardly nice to people for form's sake only, well obviously. I'm sure there are loads of racists in famously racist countries who know they can't get away with it now and save the off-colour remarks for when they're in private but are polite to the targets (and probably that makes them even more angry that they have to).
