I had it before at Goldman. They had 45 contractors getting screwed over. Goldman asked the agent to increase all our rates. The pimp refused. So Goldman threatened to pull the account. Overall they had hundreds of contractors. So the agency relented.

    Can the client help you?

So... you say that you know, client thinks you're being paid 150 more, and if pimp corrects the rate immediately (or even backdates it) then that won't automatically rule him out of the upcoming recruitment process.

      Simples.

And what if PIMP calls her bluff? Would it be that hard to go back to the client and say I don't like the way I am being threatened.

The agent knows he will get in the tulip with the client if he turns down a reasonable offer, remember he is still working for the client but that doesn't give him carte blance to put anyone in. The fact this is an extension makes it even harder for the pimp. He certainly cannot lose the client a solid resource based on greed.

It is business between pimp and client yes, and if you have signed there is nothing you can do. Knowing what the deal is isn't strictly Nor's business but by god she can use it to her advantage... There is a clear line between who's business is who but knowing that is very powerful.

I've done it, when I've been a hiring manager, and I know others who have. Some clients lay down the law about margins, and any agency pulling a fast one gets pretty short shrift. Clients generally love agents as much as we do.

Ah, that is very interesting to know! Could change the way you approach a situation if that is the case. Thanks.

Been in meetings all arvo. No long lunches for me.

Agency will be emailing line manager with a breakdown of costs.

Line manager has spoken with HR and they c**ked up on the rate negotiations. So what should have been my base rate has ended up as rate including of agency fee.

Agency has agreed to take me and line manager out at a restaurant of my choice. They'really going to regret that

That is one hell of a result. No fighting with the agent shennanigans.

I would use this list to chose which restaurant you want to go to be the way.. The Fat Duck sounds acceptable
