Anything I want to sell seems to go for 1p. Anything I want to buy seems to go into £££ very quickly.

If people do have kids clothes - you can't beat a car boot sale for having a good clear out. Does mean an early start on the Sunday, and also a bit of prep work getting the stuff together.
and dealing with oddballs attempting to ferret around in the boot of your car before you've turned the engine off, etc. Ugh. eBay in the real world? Never again.Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

It's a pretty strange place though. Recently I was selling a couple of bits of real retro electronic music gear (A pair of Alesis MMT8 sequencers). I checked the history of sold items and a couple had sold at around the £25 mark. I put one on at £25 BIN and one to auction starting at 99p. The auctioned one went to just short of £48 and I had to relist the £25 BIN three times until it sold. Go figureOriginally posted by NotAllThere View PostAnything I want to sell seems to go for 1p. As the OP says, EBay buyers are nuts.
I once saw someone sell an affiliate travel web site for over £5K that could be put together for about £50, incl hosting. I piggy backed that idea and sold a few, but not for that kind of dosh, but a tulipe site more than they were worth. When freedom comes along, don't PISH in the water supply.....Comment

There have been several studies that show that starting low gets better prices. People become emotionally committed once they have bid and end up bidding more than they intended.Originally posted by TestMangler View PostIt's a pretty strange place though. I suppose it's a bit like the 'auction fever' people get at real auctions, where they promise themselves they won't bid over £300 for something, and before they know it, they're bidding £600Originally posted by doodab View PostThere have been several studies that show that starting low gets better prices. That's because you're not famous but Jenifer Aniston is, so underwear prices are very different.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostAnything I want to sell seems to go for 1p. Had a similar experience a while back.Originally posted by escapeUK View PostI thought it might be nice to get a few of my favourite series in Blu Ray. For instance Stargate Atlantis. A quick check on Amazon shows i can get the whole thing brand new from them for £47.97 not bad for 5 series. But I dont mind a second hand one off Ebay, so I have a look but most of these below are "new unopened"
The one Im watching now finishes in 5 hours and is already at £45.51! Why?
Looking at completed items, an auction on the 4/8 finished for £77.00 + £2.25 postage. Two BIN were sold at £65.95 another at £56.95.
It seems that people being so dumb, you could buy from Amazon and then make a few quid (£31.28 in the last auction)
Is it auction fever?Comment
