        Indeed. Even if the problem isn't an Indian job, it is indeed institutionalised incompetence. Given the number of redundancies I can quite easily imagine that the people who run this stuff are overworked and understaffed and probably not particularly motivated seeing as they know they're next for the chop anyway. In the end, that's due to piss poor management. If any heads are to be chopped, Hester's should be the first. Aside from demotivating staff he's failed to understand that IT is not a supporting function for a bank; IT IS the bank.

                No, you're right. It shouldn't matter but there seems to be more people around who take no pride in what they do but are proud of what they earn.

                    It's a state sponsored scandal and the British diseases of short-termism and greed of the elites rather than institutionalised incompetence IMO, and the blame lies at the feet of Dave 'ICT king' Cameron. Hestor is just suckling at the tax payers teet.
