        Ah!! Batch processing! I remember that way back when I worked in payroll/works wages. Fortunately I got out of that crap into real time, military and industrial control systems and simulators.

        How did they control aircraft back in the 70s??? This is your captain speaking! We will be landing at Gatwick, just as soon as I've loaded the coordinates in on punch cards.

            I was involved in the early discussions when RBS bought over Natwest, of which systems should the preferred option, Natwests IMS system or RBS CICS/DB2.
            Needlessy to say RBS won the argument.

                      Sorry, don't understand the question.

                      In my experience banks have file transfers flying around between systems all over the place, even within the bank.
