Messi, well, yes, of course. Villa when he's fit I'd put at the same level as Rooney.
Sounds daft, but I think of Rooney as a #10, not a #9 and I think Gomez and Aguero are #9's.
As said, not seen Neymar.Comment

Cole and Rooney are both vastly over rated as too is Hart to a lesser extent (a feeble effort to keep out France’s goal). I certainly wouldn’t have Cole in any 'world' or England squad as he can’t stop wanking over his phone and Rooney is always liable to see red. Hart; the jury is out.

Roy can play expansive attacking football as he did when Fulham beat Juve 4-1. However I cant see this happening with the national team.
Being hard to break down is good and Roy has given some faith and a little bit of belief back to the england supporters.
I might not agree with some of his squad selections but then again at the start of the tournament I couldn't care two hoots about England as they have failed to deliver so many times.
If they give their all and go out trying that's all you can ask.Comment

People dismiss Cole simply because they hate him, and let that get in the way of objective football judgement. The fact is, more coaches consider him the best than any other left back.Comment

I think Cole is a fine player. A cockknobber of the highest calibre, but a fine player.
I think what you've said could equally be said of Rooney. People aren't looking at it with their heads.
However, you are wrong about the numbers.
There are 2 centre backs, for instance, 2 forwards, 2 centre midfielders.....Comment
