tis true though, I'm probably one of the very few who thought Monday's game was the strongest England performance for at least a year.Comment

Don't think so, I said that much earlier and many others felt the same. For the first time we felt the guys were giving their all (almost). They are not on the same level technically as France, Germany, Spain etc but they played to their strengths.Originally posted by Scoobos View Posttis true though, I'm probably one of the very few who thought Monday's game was the strongest England performance for at least a year.Comment

England hit a low when they were torn apart by a pretty average Germany at the last world cup, I think this has hastened the introduction of some much needed young blood into the squad which may not pay off immediately but could bode well for the future.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostDon't think so, I said that much earlier and many others felt the same. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

Maybe, but Cole and possibly Hart would be ahead of him.Originally posted by Old Hack View PostRooney is still on a very, very small list of England players that would bit a first pick in most teams in the worldComment

Not if he wasn't banned. No chance. Not a Utd fan, but the boy has a bit of class. I'll agree Cole and Hart are possibly the only other world class players in the team, but Rooney has something about him, clever footballer.Originally posted by Doggy Styles View PostMaybe, but Cole and possibly Hart would be ahead of him.
But, as someone earlier said, football creates conversations like this, and thats good.Comment

Rooney is a great club player but when it comes to international football he hasn't performed.
I doubt he would walk into any of the teams currently above us in the world ratings.
The issue with Rooney is where to play him. As a lone striker he gets annoyed that players don't read him. As a no. 10 just of a no. 9 ? He has a tendency to drop too deep causing too much of a gap between midfield and attack.
I'm hoping that rooney/welbeck can link well as they have shown at man u.Comment
