It is a condescending leftie view that is taken entirely to make the "leftie" feel better about himself. In parallel to this view is an implicit arrogance in the assumption that Jordan is an uncivilised country. What the selfish lefties are not able to consider is that their views often have adverse effects on others. So it may be fine to allow unfettered immigration for any seemingly poor soul but no consideration is given to the cost of feeding, housing and educating these people.
