And then in 10 years time you'd send hand-wringing letters to the Guardian, bemoaning the day that the state started murdering people that the government viewed as extremists.

    F***ing liberals.

It is the fate of liberals, born of woolly mindedness.

Too much talk and too little action.

Put him on the first plane to Jordan.

If he is not happy he can sue UK from there - no legal aid and any money he gets sent to his lawyers here or anywhere in EU should be checked for money laundering and terrorism related funding.

Even if he wins in 10 years his compensation will be less than overall costs associated with this pathetic effort to deport somebody who has no right to stay in country in the first place: AFAIK even EU citizens can be barred from UK on grounds of national security: MP of Holland (who is not in Govt there) was stopped from getting into this country few years ago.

Not a question of suing. There is the criminal matter of kidnapping and false imprisonment.

It's not kidnapping if he is arrested by authorised personnel and deported as per UK law.

Then he can argue that this law should not have applied or maybe applied wrongly, perhaps gain some compensation - either way he'll be out of country and overall compensation (based on what people who were wrongly imprisoned in this country over decades get) won't be as near as high as costs he is causing now.

I mean FFS, somebody who breaks speed limit a bit gets completely ****ed in courts who demand effectively self incrimination, yet here the Govt is somehow powerless to deport somebody who has no right to stay in this country in the first place.

btw - if UK Govt lawyers managed to allow Blair start war in Iraq that killed tens of thousands of people then there should be no problems deporting one taxpayer money waster who has no right to stay in the first place.

Perhaps this country should move to Swiss model of direct democracy - politicians have no guts to take serious decisions but if backed by referendum they'd be forced to do so.

It's not slow at all, they have regular referendums and force politicians to do things nobody else in Europe would, that's ****ing democracy... and oh they trust citizens to have firearms, low taxes also - what's not to like?!?!

Got it. I expect there would be an injunction to prevent it.

But I do take your point about the speed limit. Has he broken it or was other a more serious law? Because let's prosecute the bastard.
