It's got quite a nice centre actually, well not bad anyway, and on one side, right near the centre, you have Haigh Hall an ex-stately home with a huge park so effectively it borders on the countryside, as there's nothing mich but farm land on the otherside of Haigh Hall. Admittedly some parts of it aren't nice on the other side.
    I'm alright Jack

I get the same about Wandsworth. Full of people who think they are better than everyone as they have a shed.

I feel the same about most of London and the South East of England - just awful

We noted that the countryside around it wasn't too bad, quite nice even.

Chester Zoo an eye opener. Really didn't expect it to be that good.

Blackburn, Wigan, Bolton and Warrington complete tulip tips though. Bridgwater is bad, but a veritable paradise in comparison. I'd no sooner live in Bridgwater than die my hair ginger, get fat and speak in a glaswegian accent, but complete paradise in comparison...

            I wish....

I think you can put the death of our industry, manufacturing and thus jobs and hope - in the name of "globalisation" as the problem.

In fact I think you can <insert northern town here, with perhaps the exception of a few minor tourist towns> and have it for any of us

(im a northerner, before anyone kicks off)

I did my time in London, and wouldn't go back. Quite bohemian in the 80's in East London, and frankly scary in parts, but just a dangerous tulip hole now.

Was it the "death of industry" that throws litter on the street, vandalises other people's property?

WHS. It's a lack of two parents at home, poor schooling under Labour, immigrants taking our jobs & booming house prices. I read it in the Daily Mail.

just another example of the poorly educated ill mannered great unwashed chavs that infest our society.

Shoot a few in the face with tazers, teach them to mind their manners.

I have little time for the disgusting scum and would happily see them spend a few years in a forced labour camp. (preferably somewhere in the congo or the middle east)
