Minestrone, your "Mrs" has years of Medical Training and you're **** all other than an opinionated bigoted twat who can't hold his ale. If she didn't know it before, she does now.

You tried to make an (alleged) intelligent one feel stupid, which is why it didnt work.

Going back further in time, it's much the same as trying to argue with a druid priest about the motions of the sun and moon, and the nature of the stars - Dispute their ridiculous theories in the slightest, or hint that they are provisional and might be even slightly improved, and you'd have been thrown into a spiked pit before you could say "Galileo"
However in Mrs M case, if she was that opinionated why didnt she argue back like Mr M wanted or was she that conceited and offended at being professionally challenged do you think?Comment

Unfortunately these days most people treat them as high priests of the temple of the body, which only encourages their megalomania. Even politicians seem petrified of offending them, and bow to their every whim and demand, which usually involves money and/or meddling in the affairs of others. It's a modern day equivalent of medievil deference to bishops and the church, including provision of generous tithes.

She is telling me that industrial action is 100% certain over the pension reforms, obviously they cannot go out on strike but they will start picking off services until the government gives in. When they were dealing with the new contract negotiations The BMA/GMC were hiring out massive function rooms over the city every few weeks and by all accounts is was madness, GPs standing up on seats shouting "if we see no money then they can go and fook themselves, I'm out, you with me?" to crowd cheering. The government will quietly back down over this.Comment

I dont think she's mad.
Maybe she doesnt like rexamining her core philosophy every time a new idea comes along
or maybe you spoiled the mood
my guess is, you spoiled the mood.
there's only one way out of this
get some chocolate into her
get some red wine into her
get the vibrator going
then learn how to lighten up

I think there is a valid point here, but as with everything timing is important.
A romantic dinner is not for challenging her competence, its for listening attentively while she dazzles you with her brilliance (for the 30th time) that is if you are intending to get any sugar.Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Comment
