            If he stopped breathing for ten minutes, and wasn't in icy water, he has essentially no chance of recovering even if kept alive.

              He would probably be a severely mentally handicapped if it's true that he was out of it for 10 mins.

              I would rather see a person die than survive and never be themselves again personally.

              Though obviously i would much prefer a full recovery.

              Very sad.

                He was receiving mouth to mouth, so presumably not completely oxygen deprived. Hope he recovers OK, but still 'critical' according to BBC.

                  At the very least he will be out the rest of the season. Hope that's as bad as it gets, a lot of you are doom merchants.

                    Tragic news, and fair play to the fans for the support they gave.
                    Also a big well done to the ref who took the players off the pitch when he realised it was bad.
                    Hope he pulls through.
