Good luck protecting your machine with that!
DP please save your spurious misinformation for subjects that are less important. MSE has received critical acclaim from many who know a heck of a lot more than you (insert joke here).

Avast are looking at supplying this. I'm not sure if it's free though

I use Kaspersky and have done for years. It's not intrusive. Never had an issue and I use Usenet etc so I do get alerted to trojans from time to time.

MSE + Windows Firewall + adblock, ghostery and so on. I also disable java in the browser.

The iPhone may well be responsible for a whole slew of Mac nasties as MacOsX gets more popular.

                  You use anti-tumbleweed for Macs.

MSE. I liked Bullguard but Eclipse/Android does not work with it installed. Was going to use Bitdefender but a net search found that has similar problems. Not much use having quality protection if you can't use your machine.

How come? MSE can also balls up development work, common advice is not to do realtime scanning on your dev-folders, same goes for search indexing.
