I use MSE, the techies around here rate it as pretty good.

    I use Comodo as well.

Why has nobody mentioned the ubiquitous McAfee? Not saying it's good or bad, just that it seems to come 'free' with loads of machines.

Various flavours of *nix and OS X - nowt.

MSE on Winders 7, Avira free version for XP, Malwarebytes on all Windows systems.

Seriously contemplating doing more browsing in a VM after the nasty that got CUK.

I had another nasty on XP a couple of weeks ago which added a pile of sites to NoScript's white list, Facebook included, and that's not a site I use.

Oh yes, no Java, no Adobe Reader, no Flash on my Windows server (it hasn't got a sound card anyway), and I only use IE for getting to the parts of microsoft.com that don't work very well with Firefox.

          Windows VMs - Avast

Android phone - Avast and AVG

Linux - Klamav (but I don't think I've ever completed an execution of it )

I rely a lot on the fact that I use Linux to avoid nasties, which may not be the best idea.

I've been using the stuff supplied by Trend Micro for years now (the name of it has changed a few times over the years, something like Maximum Security now).

The first thing that I ever do with a new box is to remove anything by Norton that comes with it. I will admit though that that is based on prejudice from my experience with it years ago (Windows ME days).

Last time I checked it was rated along side the other anti virus monsters but had the advantage of not being a self defeating installation

                  Re: Android

I've not had my Android phone long and thus far have only considered installing antivirus/malware software on it. Are Androids or the browser more prone to browser attacks or rogue software downloaded from the Marketplace than iPhones?

AV test seems to be panning MSE now, looks like its gone off the boil.
