Isn't it policy if you forget to take them down after twelfth night that you leave then up all year?
I believe the recognised ettiquete is that you have until the week after twefth night depending on when the council have scheduled the christmas tree refuse collection.
After that you have a couple of days grace to get the hard to reach lights down as it's a weekend job.
Anything after that and you're lowering your neighbours' house prices and will forever be known as that awful common family at number xx.
