Going direct to work for another company is hardly an achievement for a business... it's the very starting point of business!
However anyone who gets a business off the ground is to be congratulated. I'm still trying that myself - thought it was a goer with J&J last year but it didn't come off (yet).

Still sounds like a SME to me. I've worked for a SME that was 'global'. It just had a small office in a few other countries where it could hire a few support or sales staff, and sell its widgets under a local company name.
