It's a popularity contest. Member List - Contractor UK Bulletin Board If you make the top three, you're a CUK legend. Unless you're MarillionFan which means you have loads of sockies.

According to MarillionFan, that method involved lots of hard and can only be done whilst benched due to the amount of time it takes up.

The trick (apparently) is that you need to have some sockies who already have some rep. Rep from someone who has no influence is worthless. Rep from someone with rep is worth more.

I think it works based on the rep of the rep-giver. For example a lowly recent entrant with no real rep when giving rep, counts very little. However being given rep by a super-poster with mega-rep will inflate your rep enormously.

My rep is s/th like 2290 +ve, recently damaged by Incognito who called me a 'Cock' cos I don't like Mrs Thatcher...
