That sounds about right. Bob was the archetypal offshore bod, much cheapness, plenty quickness for all your software doings etc. It was funny back then and I don't see any problem referring to people working for Indian offshore companies as Bobs, but recently it seems it's come to mean anyone from India or even anyone with brown skin, which is where I start to have a problem with it.
And I don't know what the hell KIP thinks it means if this is how he uses it
No problem was just seeking the definition of a bob, else these things can lead to misunderstandings.
Suity will realise this problem re: 'gathering requirements'.
Any issues - happy to assist.
Not sure about that, I suppose like any social trend the boundaries move depending who you talk to, where you are, etc.
Well it is now...

I have known "Bob" to be used IRL when working on sites with contingents of Bobs....
I have never known it used IRL for an individual.
Obviously the use of Bobs in these circumstances could have been started by an unknown CUK'er.
I did work on a specific site recently when I used the term Bobs to refer to some Wipro errrr Bobs when talking to a chap I worked with and he knew instantly who/what I was referring too. He was a chap of Asian heritage but NOT a Bob! ie He knew he was going to be undercut by Bobs and replaced if/when possible so sought to differentiate himself.....

Now I understand the term (Bob), hopefully no more threads will be removed by admin on this subject.
Think it's Bob a job week or was it last week?
