I hope you didn't stay up all night thinking of that, none of us are actually that bothered
People who buy a Kia Cee'd aren't bothered what people think but that hasn't entered his mind yet either.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Not sure why the Cee'd is singled out by Z either. I've been in one (the owners appear not to have lost their friends since buying it) and it just feels like any other modern cheap car to me - which is to say a whole world from what cheap cars were like a decade ago.
I hope you didn't stay up all night thinking of that, none of us actually give a tulip
But still the conversation carried on after I left to watch the cricket? Seems that's not really true spacecadet, for you seem to like the idea you've bought a Cee'd, and are defending it at every opportunity. Seems you are a tad concerned son.

But you are, as you'd buy an Audi, instead of a Cee'd, even though, to do so, would be to buy into 'perceived quality' after being simply led by marketing?

I don't think a lead price of 12 - 19k is cheap. Which is the nub oif the discussion; I think it's a lot of moey, for what it is. Plus, bought new, you lose a shed load of money just by saying thanks for the keys.
Criminal waste of money. I guess spacecadet, really is one.
and then restarted this morning after reading the tulip after I'd left

I enjoyed a nice night thanks, aided superbly by being wafted along the M5 yesterday afternoon in absolute comfort listening to a very good album, on a very good stereo.
I'd venture you don't get that feeling often spacecadet

Don't do irony you lot, do you?
Even though I did say I'd buy an Audi (had an A4 1.8T in the past) I'm thinking of buying another Mazda 6 as I've been very happy with the one I've got.
2 kids, balls intact and I don't give a tulip what you think, can you accept that?

Have you seen what Yaris, Fiesta, etc, cost? apparently the wrong side of £10k is cheap now

Yaris is a Toyota and will always be expensive. Fiesta was car of the year. Still missing the point; a new Octavia can be had to £12k, which would be 10 x a Cee'd 3 year old 325i with 25k on the clock will only be £12k, 6 month old Mondeo 12k all far better cars
What is being missed here, is that I said buying a new Cee'd, is a criminal waste of imagination, as there are other, far better, cars on the market for the same money, and with second hand cars, premium second hand cars, you'll lose a lot less money.
