Apple shares are now trading 3.5% lower at €273, after hitting a low of €270 in Frankfurt. The shares are not traded in London. They are expected to open lower when Wall Street opens at 2.30pm London time.

The iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch are computers. I use my iPad to edit code, SSH into servers and run stuff at the command line, SFTP files. In fact, I also have apps on my iPhone that let me do all that.

He was good at product design and had great attention to detail but no, he was neither a hardware nor a software whizkid. He tended to have a good grasp on what was achievable, but left the actual implementation to others.
I'm certainly no apple fanboy but it's clear that the computing world would have been very different and much poorer without him. He's arguably done more to bring computing to the masses than anyone else, and played a significant role in championing a lot of great ideas that are now commonplace. He might not have been the most technical (personally I think he must have been pretty sharp to earn the respect of people around him) but he sure knew how to get the people who were to do great things.
