Our local citylink driver is great - he usually delivers in the evening and will call back if we're out.

This is an order Amazon are re-sending because when HDNL supposedly delivered it, it went missing. Again. It's surprising how often deliveries from HDNL go missing, yet never ones by any other firm

When I contacted Amazon to tell them it had gone astray I pointed out that HDNL kept losing stuff. The email from customer services included a couple of paragraphs of boilerplate about how seriously they take reports of problems with carriers, and that they review their arrangements, blah blah blah. Given that a Google search for HDNL throws up vast numbers of complaints I think Amazon need to actually take action on those reviews of their arrangements, rather than just doing them and then sitting back with the sense of a job well done.

You'd think GPS tracking would be de rigeur for courier vans

Doesn't sound like something that would be popular with the drivers.

WHS. Not only Citylink but even DHL and other couriers employ contractors now on a self employed basis. I have had a few parcels delivered by couriers who live close by, have left a card with their mobile number and when I rang back to say I am home, they came over straight away to give me the parcel.

Worst courier is Yodel. I think they are DHL rebranded or something.

Drivers turn up when they can be bothered.

Had the same issue with DPD, rang their helpline as soon as I spotted the status update on their tracking website and he was back in an hour or so.

He took a photo of our front door too, my wife was just being deaf while I was working the Saturday, but he couldn't have tried very hard, RING THE BELL!!!, KNOCK A BIT HARDER!!!!
