My contract was officially due to end this Thursday (the original launch date, now pushed back to next Monday) but, mainly due to us having worked stupid hours over the weekend, it was decided at 7pm last night that I was no longer required.
I thus find myself in London with a hotel room and all the time in the world - an unexpected holiday!
Having slept until 9:30, I shall now amble up to the Tube station and travel down to Covent Garden for a lazy brunch at a little cafe I like. After that, I think I may stroll across the river and have a wander round Tate Modern, or perhaps take a look in the National Gallery.
Then it's back to the hotel to follow up on a potential gig in Cambridge before deciding on a restaurant for dinner
See you later
(P.S. If we hadn't worked the two days over the weekend, then presumably I would have been kept on for the remaining two days... but the weekend time is invoiced at time-and-a-half )
