Pretty quiet day. Gold up a bit this morning and has now stabilised, markets up, little or no doom.

No one I know has lost their job, all of them have received big pay rises and bonuses.
All the pubs are packed, all the restaurants are packed, takeaways packed, roads packed, shopping centres packed, car parks packed.
House prices are high and in anywhere decent going up.
Funny old "end of the world" if you ask me.Comment

Plus, it's been the best recession ever for mortgage holders who have had their houses paid for them by savers and pensioners. Ditto for rich people and BTLers. This is no way to run a recession surely, where only the poor pay.Originally posted by DimPrawn View PostWhat I've noticed.

It's a bloody brilliant recession. All the poor people will die in the mini ice age since their utility bills have doubled, and this, will mean, on average everyone else will have become richer.Originally posted by TimberWolf View PostPlus, it's been the best recession ever for mortgage holders who have had their houses paid for them by savers and pensioners. Got to love bankers, climate change and statistics to make us all better off.

Fours years back I took out a massive mortgage but kept half as offset cash when moving up the ladder. With the equity I have I put that into bonds paying 5% while paying the bank 0.98%. I make 8k a year after taxes and repayments. Now that's just plain silly.

That's AtW's interest money he should have been receiving on the £12 of savings he has amassed since arriving as an immigrant 10 years ago.Originally posted by MarillionFan View PostWHS.
