      (some)people are panicking over nothing.

The average man in the street is going to feel little or no impact.

        What I've noticed.

No one I know has lost their job, all of them have received big pay rises and bonuses.
All the pubs are packed, all the restaurants are packed, takeaways packed, roads packed, shopping centres packed, car parks packed.
House prices are high and in anywhere decent going up.

Funny old "end of the world" if you ask me.

The moral fabric of society has been noticeably down in the last 30-40 years though.

Inflation might put a cat amongst the pigeons.

I received my road tax renewal today - £210

I'm sure it was cheaper than that last year.

That's to pay the Carbon Tax to stop the warm winters/cold winters*

*delete as appropriate depending on whether today the Met Office Climate Change dept tell us Carbon makes winters warmer on average or colder on average.

Plus, it's been the best recession ever for mortgage holders who have had their houses paid for them by savers and pensioners. Ditto for rich people and BTLers. This is no way to run a recession surely, where only the poor pay.

It's a bloody brilliant recession. All the poor people will die in the mini ice age since their utility bills have doubled, and this, will mean, on average everyone else will have become richer.

Got to love bankers, climate change and statistics to make us all better off.

                    WHS.

Fours years back I took out a massive mortgage but kept half as offset cash when moving up the ladder. With the equity I have I put that into bonds paying 5% while paying the bank 0.98%. I make 8k a year after taxes and repayments. Now that's just plain silly.
What happens in General, stays in General.

That's AtW's interest money he should have been receiving on the £12 of savings he has amassed since arriving as an immigrant 10 years ago.
