Although most (if not all) would not have joined in the looting over the past few days, many have a bit of a colourful background so I thought I'd start the ball rolling...
The local supermarket (think Woolies type of shop) where I grew up for some reason never stocked the square 9v batteries (PP9's I think they are called). So as a 10/11 year old my mate and I took it in turns about once a week in the school holidays to go a nick a load of 1.2v penlight batteries.
The other used to then return them to the shop under the guise of "my mum's radio uses the square ones, can I exchange please?" and then, as they didn't stock them, they refunded us the money for the ones we'd nicked.
Result - enough money for a few days on the old pinball machine at the local cafe!
