The Legal and Justice systems are seperate though, nice try though. Think we will be the ones building the wall to keep all the rioters out. Notice how there were no riots in Scotland? We are civilised nation thats why!

The US system jailed and put on death row a guy who when interviewed was clearly retarded.

One of this crimes was holding up a newsagent shop not for the money, cigarettes and booze but for cookies and milk.

What do you propose? We have a whole generation of people with no stake in society, they have nothing to lose.

They're young and mostly poor and badly educated, of course they have little stake in society, it's been the case since the dawn of civilisation. The good ones get educated and get out. The sensible ones keep their heads down and try and raise a family. A small minority decide to throw a tantrum (which is all this is)

I am against death penalty for two reasons:

1) innocents might die
2) guilty will suffer more in a bad prison with life sentence and no hope for parole

It's that, grow a backbone and stand up for your community, or welcome a police state where you have to rely on the authorities to keep you safe.

Well, I'd love to think I'd have the backbone to 'stand up for my community', but 'my community' is a rather nice leafy, comfortable little village where I don't have to face death threats, arsonists and gang violence.

1) No solution can be 100% fair. It's this too soft approach, scared to make one wrong move that results in a paralysed response as we saw last night.

2) If the scrotes are dumb enough to commit a crime three times then they deserve all they get. Give them the option of euthanasia if they're that worried about conditions. Why should we have them living amongst us just because they're human. We put better animals down for less.

If it's in London then it's not guaranteed to be safe, due to the fact that the scum are within a commutable distance. Better to be prepared and not needed.

Otherwise I agree. There are still nice places in the UK where active law enforcement isn't needed to keep people in check.

I rarely see a copper where I live yet I don't have the inclination to break into the local electronics store. Seems 99% of the locals here feel the same, hence why a police presence can be very low key.
