The point I was making was that there are barriers to entry for the best jobs, and they tend to initially be set by qualifications. How many people went to uni and the pissed off to london or any other big city for their job and then made a life in that area. Hardly anybody I knew from my degree days went back home post graduation. So it stands to reason that the big cities will have a higher number of graduates than pretty rural places. Also, because these educated people tend to earn more than the uneducated and often unemployable its also pretty obvious that they would not want to live in the less desirable areas. Hence the low qualification rates in some inner city areas.

Only an idiot could suggest that this map shows that people up north are less qualified than people down south.
