Also, you're a hypocrite. You used the cynical tactic of trying to make the opponent seem stupid by talking about their satirical playmobil stories when this has no bearing on the discussion
Context. My point was that the post attempted to rebut a report from a professional scientific body with an article published at a non-serious and tangential venue, making it difficult to be sure if it was meant informatively or for entertainment purposes. According to wiki:

The Register frequently uses sarcasm and satire in its articles, in the manner of the British satirical magazine Private Eye
I could, within a few moments, find you sites 'proving' that blueberries cure cancer, that evolution is a hoax, that the twin towers were brought down by a controlled explosion and AGW is a fraud. Rebutting such nonsense and other irrelevancies (Greenpeace did not get charitable status in New Zealand. So what?) would take more time than one has available, so a certain amount of filtering is required.

The charge of hypocrisy would stick if I had, in seriousness, cited material from a similarly unreliable source.....
My subconscious is annoying. It's got a mind of its own.

The problem with dealing with a cut and paste merchant, who doesnt appear to understand some of the terms he uses , someone who even uses cut and paste definitions to try to prove that he DOES understand the terms , is that no-one has a clear understanding of what anybody is saying any more

I sure dont. all I am getting is this horrible drone in my left lug-hole

Like some of your rebuttals you mean. The Don Easterbrook rebuttal for example.

Just as a reminder here are his papers

Now you can post a "strawman" rebuttal.

So when was the last time a war party of yelling tattooed maniacs burst into your gaff, determined to kidnap your wife and kids, and kill you and hack off your head to take back as a well-earned trophy?

Do try and be serious, or use smileys if you're not.

Dental cavities are more prevalent today than they were in ancient times, and if you lived in one of the many war torn areas of the world today, or during the European wars, you and your wife and children's heads could have ended up blown to bits and splattered to kingdom come, to use a similar silly metaphor. Being sprayed by fire from an American gunship wouldn't leave much left of you either. Wars never went away.

I don't dispute that. But you seemed to be implying that stone age life was some idyllic carefree existence, without warfare or illness.

(although in fairness some series, maybe A History of Ancient Britain, did mention acheological evidence that warfare became more intense as the population increased)

The problems started with specialisation of labour and surplus production.

There were three types of arrow head used in the ancient world
conical, used for target practice and armour piercing
                    arrow head, used for hunting
                    barbed, used for warfare

all three types have also been found in pre history sites.
There is no doubt that stig was a warrior type as opposed to a loving son of mother gaia

Not really. But their perhaps shorter more brutal lives were lived, and by one measure, we are middle aged by age 20 anyway - I forgot what this measure is called, but it's the time we experience as we age, which goes faster the older and slower you get. So even if we do live to 100, is it something to boast about, especially if you'd retired only a decade or so before that, with the last decade or two involving drooling in a chair?

It might be idealist to think of life in a community of mud huts in Iron age Britain, or better yet in the Garden Of Eden (Mesopotamia), as better than living in an overcrowded land working for someone else until the day you die in exchange for medicine that helps keep you alive. Perhaps the closest we can get is looking at examples we do have more direct evidence about - American Indians, Amazonian tribes, Eskimos and African hunter-gathers. Is that life so bad?
