yep. the arrow heads I'm on about are not from the last ice age, they are from 50k years ago. And the last I heard, we nicked the technolgy from the neanderthals.

lets see, I could live the exiting life of a hunter gatherer and die of old age when Im twenty

Oi! That was a series of unfortunate unconnected hunting accidents.

They asked some redskins why they saved the serated and barbed points for the enemy, when they would guarantee a better chance of a hunting kill.
The answer was very practical - there are plenty of deer, and it takes ages to make an arrow. an ordinary arrow will fall out if you dont make a clean kill ,allowing it to be recovered.

With an enemy, you dont want it to come out. If it doesnt kill him, at least he will die of gangrene, or some witch doctor will have to gouge it out.

Equally your life might have been as you regale here from time to time, of the time when you were skint. What about that life? And that would still be a better life stlye than that experienced by the majority of humans on the planet, allegedly.

Apparently there are places in the world where so many axe heads have been discovered, which are believed to be of Neatherthal origin IIRC, that it's not known why they did it. They appear to have gone technology mad.
