I'll take a stab at them being fired in this order:
Jim - first to go despite his good sales ability and chat, he is a mediocre decision maker
Susan - fast learner but still too naive
Helen - methodical and mostly competent, but lack of something on the proactive business front
leaving... Tom as the winner. Strange as that may sound.
Valuable lesson here for the real freelancers among us. The more mistakes you make the more successful ye shall become.
There's some truth in that, you need to fail to succeed, how else will you learn? A first time success may be bad for the long run.

12 weeks wasted, it was the CV wot did it. I didn't know until tonight that he'd sold to Walmart and had him down as a dead man walking a few weeks back. He did do well last week for the first time though.
