Oh yes, how could I forget Sambuca. First time I tried it was on holiday in Greece. To this day the first and only time I've blacked out* during a drinking session. I usually just end up puking my guts and deciding it's time to stop drinking.

    * worst part was I 'woke up' later after someone poured water over me as I lay outside the hotel. They wouldn't tell me what I'd got up to that night. Only thing I did find out was when I coincidentally bumped into a group of girls in a nightclub the next night and wondered how they knew me and why they were being so friendly. Turned out I'd had a wild night with them but couldn't remember a damn thing about it. I was apparently 'missing in action' with them for several hours before my mates found me and dragged me back to the hotel. A real jekyll and hyde experience, both shocking and gutting.

I hope that one day they'll invent a mind unlocking machine so I can recover that memory. Though doubt it's anywhere near as good as my imagination came up with after hearing about it!

When they do - please let me know, so I can recover approximately 5% of my life.

And of course there's my home infused blackberry whisky and apple vodka.

They're much, much nicer than the cooking liquer they started out as...

And I have developed a taste for decent tequila.

              WAAAAAH AARRGGGGHHH NOOOOOOO.

The smell of that stuff makes my physically retch, I get the sicky dribbles if I even spy a bottle of it.

The worst thing I've ever swallowed was that stupid green stuff, Absynth (spelt wrong, I bet). I thought my tongue had fallen off, and I just keeled over.

                    Black Sambuca

All have some factor with me after one or two heavy evenings.
Oddly - I tried a 'blackjack' (Black Sambuca layered shot with JD) a few weeks ago and it was alright.
Southern Comfort lost a lot of its mystique, let's say, after I polished off a litre of duty free over the course of an afternoon some years ago and was sick as a parrot the next day.

But I'll still drink it, and I honestly can't think of any drink aversions I've developed.

I believe Sambucca and Grappa are the most common aversions though, because a lot of people tend to overdose on them while on Mediterranean holidays!

                      Sambuca

I still have splashes of Sambuca puke stain on my Mulberry handbag. Gutted.
