'Interestingly' everything but radiation levels at Fukushima and Miyagi survey stations are being reported.
Media blackout to prevent mass histeria.

We are all doomed. Also the earthquake has moved the earth on it's axis, shifted the magnetic poles and set the scene for a speedy pole shift in 2012.

Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.

All of this would still probably be not enough to take UK house prices to a reasonable level

Alternatively, the monitoring equipment's ****ed, what with there having been a massive earthquake, a tsunami, and an exploding power station

If true, this goes to show just how much of a last resort measure it is - you don't write off billions of pounds worth of reactors if you don't have to.
I think from memory from when I worked in the nuclear industry, if the reactor is sleeved then you can more or less hoover the boron balls out and the reactor can be restarted, obviously not with a Dyson though. If unsleeved then reactor is fubared.

              Great find.

This part was a bit odd though:

Within the 8 hours, another power source had to be found and connected to the power plant. The power grid was down due to the earthquake. The diesel generators were destroyed by the tsunami. So mobile diesel generators were trucked in.

This is where things started to go seriously wrong. The external power generators could not be connected to the power plant (the plugs did not fit). So after the batteries ran out, the residual heat could not be carried away any more.

Depends how much energy the Dyson has available to it

                  Good stuff

I wonder how many Daily Mail readers are misreading that link as "mortgagesatlarge" in their browser's status bar

And now reactor unit 3 has exploded.

The thing that annoys me is that half of the world’s reporters have flown into Japan to individually report on matters: surely their planes / transport would have been utilised better to take in relief equipment as opposed to cameras to drain power off a unstable grid?
