Well now I've done it. I put my name into the hat for an open mic evening at a ukulele cabaret next month. The pub is small and the punters don't have to pay to get in so it's a perfect spot for my debut, unhindered as I am by rhythm or talent.
If I'm accepted I expect it to be an unforgettable evening.
I'd better get practicing...

How cool !! The Uke is very under-rated. I grew up in Wigan, home of George Formby, and I myself have and play a Banjo Uke. When I was 15, I played in front of a crowd of 50 or more Silver Tops and sung songs about the war! They loved it and I'm sure you'll get a warm reception too!
The year after, I played it again and a string snapped but I carried on regardless but it sounded tulipe and they clapped out of sympathy I'm sure. How humiliating ...
