Is there anything more weak-minded and meaningless than having "faith"?

It means she never gave up hope. Religion & faith offers hope. Without religion great deeds of self worth & giving would not have taken place(name any atheists famous for their philanthropy), whereas you can name many Godless & Religious zealots who have offered up evil & suffering. What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions! -

So because one person doesn't get prayers answered nobody does? Bad logic. Also, you seem to have a thing about rape.Originally posted by kandr View PostWhat about Josef Fritzl daughter who was held slave for 24 years and was raped and beat up daily, she prayed daily for God to free her, but it was only by chance 24 years later that she escaped. Coincidence accounts for any prayer being answered.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

Fact:
I don't know and you don't either."See, you think I give a tulip. Wrong. In fact, while you talk, I'm thinking; How can I give less of a tulip? That's why I look interested."Comment

Well that leads to the question why are some prayers answered and others not. Why do I have a thing for rape? Its usually religious types doing the raping.Originally posted by d000hg View PostSo because one person doesn't get prayers answered nobody does? Bad logic. Watched the religious discussions with interest today. Some really offensive comments earlier and serious stereotyping that was deemed to be 'acceptable' from moderation.
What is interesting within the UK, and a UK website that an attack on someones religion/belief/stereotype is acceptable, whereas an attack on race or sexism is unacceptable. In the US, free speech extends itself to an attack on race & sex, but is unacceptable when based around religion.
If I was to attack someones colour or sexual procalivity on CUK I'll be bounced off in seconds, but not religion. This is because within the UK especially the country has lost it's moral compass & guidance. Catholicism & the Church of England are seen as a weak part of society, it's followers compared with David Icke. It's an easy target. The same posters on CUK(and moderators as well) would tulip their pants if someone posted the Danish cartoon's of Mohammed, or started to use the 4Chan style '******' insults it's forum is famous for.
Religion in the UK is an easy target for those who cannot hold an argument IMO.Last edited by MarillionFan; 7 December 2010, 22:35. Reason: ****** - Proves the point as the word is moderated! What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment
