What part of "for those interested" evaded your primitive comprehension software?

In fact the Head of Refereeing Development has not spoken at all.........about any aspect of this. But he DID put himself forward for a radio interview the day following the incident, at a point in time when he was well aware of what had actually happened, and during which he attempted to perpetuate the version that has since been proven to have been a lie.
Despite the smokescreen of "alleged death threats" to referees and their families, it would appear that very few, if any, have been reported to the Police. The linesman directly involved in this latest flashpoint categorically denied that he had resigned over "death threats" to his family. He explained his decision as having been solely induced by bullying from within the Scottish Referees framework.
What it "appears" to be about is the Refs being upset that their honesty, integrity, and performance levels are being consistently brought into question.
All this blowing up on the weekend where the papers leaked the story about 80% of them failing the Ref's Competency Test. And all shortly after the Ref in question, Dougie McDonald, had been caught lying, closely aided and abetted by his Gaffer Hugh Dallas. The same Hugh Dallas that is currently under internal investigation by his employers for sending sectarian emails.
Now it is being engineered to look as though it is simply Celtic that are complaining here, but it does not take much detective work to find vitriolic criticism of our referees by various other managers and Chairmen currently active within the Scottish game. People like Steven Thompson the Dundee United Chairman, in tandem with his manager Peter Houston. People like Vladimir Romanov, the Hearts Chairman. Jim Jefferies, whose perennial griping about poor refereeing decisions is almost legendary. And not forgetting our current National Coach, Craig Levein. It strikes me that if you want to see what calibre of referee certain teams within the SPL set-up would be quite content with, you need only have watched the Rangers v Man Utd match last night. Both the crowd and the home players appeared to be gobsmacked on every occasion where a 50/50 tackle was not given in their favour. That is the norm they have come to expect. As for the penalty award, Walter Smith the Rangers manager stated that it should not have been awarded as it was "an accident". Richard Gough, a former Rangers captain, said it was "debatable". Sir Alex Ferguson described it as an assault. I rest my case.
And yet despite this backdrop, the Referees cannot see why people might question their integrity and ability?

            What a Plum.

Care to explain? And maybe improve on your previous comments if that's possible?

About Phil | Phil Mac Giolla Bhain

Phil is currently involved in an art house project writing and acting in a play about the history of the Republican struggle in Ireland. The film, Directed by young Irish director Chris Slevin will be submitted to festivals in 2007 at Ireland and abroad. Phil has written the script for the film and played the part of James Connolly during the 1916 GPO scenes, which were filmed in Vienna in 2006.
I wonder what team he supports?

"I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith

I wonder what team he supports?

Kinda irrelevant what team he supports. What really matters is the veracity of his statements, not just from a moral perspective but, as I am sure you are well aware studying Law, from a legal perspective. You would have to be pretty sure of your facts to go public with this kind of revelation, would you not agree?
Few more miles to run in this saga methinks.
As McDonalds might say (and not Dougie Dougie!).................I'm Loving it!!

So every other thread without those magic words is not only for those interested?
With respect, that's like saying that starting an insult with the words "with respect" negates the fact you're calling the other person a clod.

And seriously, a thread about Scottish football? That's about as interesting as a thread on Welsh cricket or Icelandic beach volleyball.
