I have a long commute every day and I have been trying various things to relieve the boredom, including using my phone to surf the web (but the signal keeps disappearing), reading a book etc. I think reading a decent newspaper is the key, but which one? I tried the Times, but its a bit to right wing.

Any suggestions?

I don't read crappy novels and celeb autobiographies. I read the odd novel like Crime and Punishment or Hunter S Thompson's books, but prefer reading educational books.

Todays trial

So this morning I opted for the Guardian. I enjoyed the read although its a bit of a slow news day, didn't get through it though as I was constructing an email for half the journey, so can't comment too much.

However one funny quote from the front page, about how British interrogators are using inhumane techniques, "they make them watch porn, from DVD's".
