Chris Moyles is no more homophobe than Julian Clary is butch personified. The issue with near the knuckle humour us that many don't understand it and are therefore 'offended'. There is nothing worse than the mock outrage directed at 'racist & sexist' comedians like Jim Davidson while overtly camp or black comedians make straight or 'yo ******' jokes.

Frankly anything in the mainstream is neither offensive or cutting edge. For those who think it is need to get out more on the fringe.

I know the BBC chiefs and regulatory bodies are all a bit too PC but check his history. I have listened to him on the radio before but not for many years. His offensive style made me switch off. As an early morning presenter who has a very large percentage of young and impressionable listeners his behaviour is not acceptable to me.

So if his humour is not "got" by a lot of people then how do snipes at homosexuals get interpreted by younger listeners? They can do nothing but help cement stereotypes. If it is OK for Moyles to take the piss out of gays then how is a 13 year old thug likely to react to school mates who fit those stereotypes?

I have a dark humour at the best of times but cannot see the attraction with this oaf. He smacks of a bullying, self-obsessive grunt. I "get" his style of humour and I don't like it. Jim Davidson and other "sexist & racist" comedians are not on early morning breakfast shows, if they were I would complain about them too
