I know the BBC chiefs and regulatory bodies are all a bit too PC but check his history. I have listened to him on the radio before but not for many years. His offensive style made me switch off. As an early morning presenter who has a very large percentage of young and impressionable listeners his behaviour is not acceptable to me.

So if his humour is not "got" by a lot of people then how do snipes at homosexuals get interpreted by younger listeners? They can do nothing but help cement stereotypes. If it is OK for Moyles to take the piss out of gays then how is a 13 year old thug likely to react to school mates who fit those stereotypes?

I have a dark humour at the best of times but cannot see the attraction with this oaf. He smacks of a bullying, self-obsessive grunt. I "get" his style of humour and I don't like it. Jim Davidson and other "sexist & racist" comedians are not on early morning breakfast shows, if they were I would complain about them too

Chris Moyles is no more homophobe than Julian Clary is butch personified. The issue with near the knuckle humour us that many don't understand it and are therefore 'offended'. There is nothing worse than the mock outrage directed at 'racist & sexist' comedians like Jim Davidson while overtly camp or black comedians make straight or 'yo ******' jokes.

Frankly anything in the mainstream is neither offensive or cutting edge. For those who think it is need to get out more on the fringe.

I'm not taking offence, it's not like I know the guy and you're the one who seems to have a personal bone to pick with him. As a listener I've heard him at length discussing the issue, AND the subsequent media hoo-hah. I'm a fan but even if I wasn't - if it was a CEO or a sports player or a DJ I don't like - my view would be the same. I can see the POV about not airing your laundry in public but those who don't like his habit of expressing his opinions openly probably aren't listeners and therefore, why do they care?

I know that part of his act is to be offensive and obscene and that is why I don't get why a publicly funded body support him. Look at his track record as a sexist homophobe. I don't think there is any place for him on the airwaves and his recent display in regard to his not being paid and the unprofessional manner in which he used his show to complain about this reinforces my thoughts about him.

He publicly stated he took a 20% cut a year or so back, again quite openly. But either way, what he's paid, what you think is a fair wage (interesting idea on contracting site ) and whether you like his show are all irrelevant, or should be in a sensible discussion.

I expect he was told what his pay would be rather than him openly saying "Tell you what, just pay me 20% less next year." The difference between him and contractors is huge.

I'd like to see that, it could make a good YouTube video...

Why? As long as you don't swear or break any laws you can say what you want to the police. They are public servants and they should also be treated with the dignity that they deserve.
