I reckon it's fine to go quite far in the thread that starts a discussion; don't post something unless you're happy to discuss it, etc... but bringing it up in other threads appears much more personal in my opinion. Maybe someone else thought the same, maybe they just don't like you. CUK ain't a basket of rose
