I've growing used to the tapas style of eating. You can share 2, 3 curries and not feel as full from a single portion who would receive in somewhere like Ashoka.Originally posted by Cliphead View PostAny of the Ashoka's are far superior.
There's a mother india in Edinburgh now!

Yes, been to both Rogano's and Mother India many times. I'm not alone. I know others who think the same. Both were probably good back in the day but are now living off their reputation.Originally posted by scooterscot View PostHave you been?
Glad you enjoy them though. I like the Shish Mahal and also the Killermont Polo Club but I think I get better curries than standard at the Polo Club on account that I am such a regular diner there.

While Mother India's cafe is OK I also think it is overrated, you seem to come away from it spending 40 quid and still want a bag of pakora. I used to stay on St Vincent Crescent and Argle street so know most of the curry shops around that area very well.
Sibbos Delhi Dhabba across the road from the first Mother India is the best around that place by far, the menu is OK but the specials board is the best Indian cooking in Glasgow.Comment

Shish Mahal is great as well, I used to have a flat right above that place and would nip down for a takeaway, jump into The Doublet next door for a couple of beers and they would come in and hand the food to me, back up stairs with another 4 stella from the pub. The good old days.Originally posted by al_cam View PostYes, been to both Rogano's and Mother India many times. I'm not alone. I know others who think the same. Admittedly it's been a while sounds like mother india in Glasgow has gone downhill, that is a shame. Still I bet you it's a million time better than any German restaurant could produce, the curries out here are abysmal."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience".
