Try the MalMaison. Better by 500% than the likes of Marriott, Hilton etc

I rented a flat when I worked in Glasgow, 9th floor flat overlooking the Clyde 7min walk from Queen St. I used to sit on the balcony watching all the bridges light up a night.

But I wouldn't recommend it , renting is too much hassle.
Frazer Suites were nice, but a little pricey -- but you did get a kitchenette which was nice.
Lots of the people I worked with used the Holiday inn and the other usual suspects.

I really enjoyed working in Glasgow, i had a great social life there
I'm sorry, but I'll make no apologies for this

                Carlisle?

It's 8 or 9 years since I worked there, but Bearsden was a reasonable area back then. Can you maybe find a B&B near Loch Lomond, or is that too far to commute?
Oh, I’m sorry….I seem to be lost. I was looking for the sane side of town. I’d ask you for directions, but I have a feeling you’ve never been there and I’d be wasting my time.

Can't tell you where you should stay, but the last time I stayed in Glasgo, I was told to avoid Gibbs Hill, Port Glasgow, Gourouk (SP?) and Greenock. Was told that Lanark (SP?) was a safe place to stay.
