Ahhh, this is where you start confusing animals with sentient beings. You remind me of Baldrick. Thick as sh!t but strangely lovable. (Not in an HAB way, I was never confused!)

Perhaps they are. Quite a few of them are capable of passing the mirror test, for example.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

I agree, that is the flaw I am pointing out in Doodab's scenario he is using to compare the two. It is not similar enough to use that as an argument for the point you make and the difference between a slow death and a squish.

I used the earthworm because it actually happened. He didn't torture it, he played with it for a few minutes i.e. picked it up, poked it a bit etc but nothing malicious, I think even the squishing was more out of curiosity.
Again I agree with this, hell didn't we all do this as kids. The point I was making is that you can't use an example of a 3 year old and worm when comparing it to bullfighting which is what you were doing.

Re the cats, you are absolutely right. My apologies.

Again, where does this 'truth' come from? Does an animal have a 'reason for existing'?

Batter farming and bull-fighting are both done to make money and give people enjoyment... whether the enjoyment of watching or the enjoyment of eating meat more frequently if you're poor.

          No - look it up
I think most of us would agree that battery farming is abhorrent, and luckily, most of us are also hopefully in a position, if meat eaters, to afford to buy meat that has been farmed more responsibly.

          If we choose to.

And then not to bleat (pardon the pun) on about it.
Fine, that's a reasonable position. But about the bull you think it is appropriate to wish death on people, rather than let them choose if they object to animal cruelty or not. Which seems inconsistent. Shouldn't you wish death on those who run battery farms and those who sell the meat and those who eat the meat?

Ok d000hg, I give up, you win.

Your badly structured and infantile counter arguments have defeated this little lady.
Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

I prefer to capture them under a glass and keep them trapped until they die so that I can make photos of them.

Typical. Try to ask someone to justify their claims that something is "just wrong" and they get all huffy and insult you. You didn't even make an argument why it was wrong for me to counter.

I think you word confusion continues. "Infantile" doesn't actually mean "too complicated for me to understand"
