can I just ask why you assume I'm a sockie - I'm having a discussion on an ethical issue here. Don't such things concern any of you lot or do you just not care?

It doesn't help when you post a link to an article thats years old.

You are new yet you make comments like you have been here a while. You are either a sockie or another poster reincarnated (sp).

Your discussions on an "ethical" issue come across as racist IMO but, thats just it - it's my opinion.

If you actually take the time to do proper research, you'll find that halal slaughterhouses do exist, and they are perfectly legal. You'll also find meat for non-halal consumption being produced by ropey slaughterhouses that eventually get shut down.

What you have to worry about is unscrupulous folk (of any colour) who will do anything for a buck. So, the moral of the story is, don't buy your meat of a bloke down the pub, get it from a butcher.

I think you're a sockie because you're too stupid to be real.

GrocerBoy, I recently saw a bunch of men laying on carrots, spuds and aubergines onto a BBQ and cook them with their skins on !

I absolutely know what you are talking about and it is barbaric to follow such practices.

Racist? No, don't give a damn about the colour of anyone's skin or where they are from but if you live over here you have to live within certain parameters that's all.

Yes, freedom of religion is one of those parameters, thankfully.
