German & French politicians don't do it yet why is it so acceptable for UK?

You can't keep everyone alive but you can avoid disgrace of pensioners dieing in their houses during winter because they can't afford to heat their houses - the fact that it happens en masse in this country is a total disgrace and it is a result of failed economic policies.
