The thing about BM was that he was a Gentleman - I would wager that he wouldn't have said anything at all to the women, least of all that it would have been offensive.

Being offensive is not the same as being funny. He's not all that bad a comedian, but he relies on causing offence to get a reaction. It's lazy, anyone can say the 'wrong thing'. In this PC world we have at the moment someone like him gets more press than they deserve, his style of standup will always have a very limited shelf life. Stand ups far more worthy of note are Stewart Lee, Bill Bailey, Frank Skinner, Eddie Izzard etc.
