"my lunch", "currently drinking" and cooking threads are a bit inane on this forum. But each to his own. Scotspine must be a trencherman, being over 20 stone, so that can't be what upsets him.

Is it anything to do with Celtic? Global warming? The possibility of the Scottish mafia losing the election?

I find it a bit poor that rather than talking to me and the other mods about this you have preferred to air your view this way. I am saddened that this is how you have chosen to end your stint modding the forum but if your heart is no longer in it then there is no point continuing, you are right.

I see no great changes to the forum, it is pretty much the same as it always has been as far as I can see. People come and go on here, groups form, argue with each other, threaten to leave, leave and come back again pretty regularly in my experience.

In terms of moderation, it has been discussed at length already. The terms and conditions in relation to swearing and banter on the forum are old and don't really reflect the nature of the forum any more. As you all know we are putting a new forum together to help segregate the banter and those asking for real help and I hope this will make a clearer definition between what is acceptable and where.

Some posters on here are intent on winding each other up of late and this will stop eventually. The new mods are finding their feet and have come on board at a time when the forum has been more hectic and time consuming than ever. I do feel sad that you did not decide to muck in and let your feelings be known despite the new mods asking for your opinion on matters.

Thanks for your help over the years, it is greatly appreciated.

I don't know what "elite" you imagine me to be a part of? I spend a good percentage of my time berating the likes of sasguru, AtW, Milanbenes, and Churchill and many others on a wide range of topics. I do not, and never have, attended any of the social functions that occur. I am content to contribute to any threads that take my fancy, and to both dish out and receive abuse to all and any members if I feel it is merited. Just how this places me in an "elite" position God only knows.
If I were you, I'd spend a sight less time posting snivelly posts and try and get to the bottom of just why you have such a problem with feeling "left out".
Up until a couple of weeks ago I had just lumped you in as one of a large number of "regulars" that were an equal part of the sizeable CUK family. You seem to have morphed into some paranoid recluse desperately in need of a hug. Snap out of it......it is a Web Forum........don't take it so seriously.

          WOHS.

You've done a long stint as a mod, now relax and enjoy the water.

If tweaks are needed then let's hear about them and get them over with. But from my perspective this forum is valuable because it does not stick too rigidly to restrictive boundaries. If that laissez faire attitude is not to the liking of some of the newcomers then let them be the ones to rethink their positions.

Well put. Plenty of whiney-whingers have come and gone on here.

I've always found the mix of Technical, Business and Less Serious to be a quite informative, interesting and entertaining mix.
